GOVERNOR’S GLIMPSE

The first quarter of our new Rotary year has been fun and exciting. I see a lot of interest in Making Dreams Real. Membership is up and growing. I’m excited also to see which club wins Roscoe’s growth award. Meridian looks strong and confident. But I know Rankin County (Amanda) doesn’t like to lose.

October is Vocational Service Month and I have sent an e-mail to all club presidents about ideas to feature Vocational Service during October. The focus is on promotion of the highest ethical standards in all occupations, including fair treatment of employers, employees, associates, competitors, and the public.

Our District Public Relations Committee has met the October 1 deadline for a District Public Relations grant which will spread the word about Rotary throughout District 6820. Hope we get it. Special thanks to Amanda and her team for this accomplishment.

Governor Elect Chuck and Governor Nominee Roscoe attended The Zone Institute and Governor’s Elect Training Seminar in Indy in September and report a renewed inspiration toward Rotary service and Making Dreams Real.
